The course provides an introduction to a number of modern methods and techniques in applied mathematics through examples inspired by applied subject areas. The course deals with for example dynamical systems, perturbation methods, calculus of variation, introduction to partial differential equations, Sturm-Liouville problems and eigenfunction expansions, integral equations.
Entry requirements
120 credits including 45 credits in mathematics. Participation in Linear Algebra II and in Several Variable Calculus or Several Variable Calculus M and in Ordinary Differential Equations I or Transform Methods. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
