Molecular physics including molecular orbital theory and electronic structure for small to large-sized molecular systems; molecular interactions and coupling molecular physics with thermodynamics and electrochemical properties; selected spectroscopic methods for fundamental and applied molecular physics; simulation methods for molecular systems; structure and function of larger systems, e.g. biomolecules, clusters and nanomaterials; functional molecular surface layers as used in e.g. batteries, solar cells and for artificial photosynthesis; Two-dimensional quantum crystals for nanoelectronic and spintronic applications.

Entry requirements

120 credits and Chemical Bonding in Molecules and Materials and Introduction to Materials Science. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
