This course gives an introduction to modern algebraic geometry via classical affine and projective algebraic geometry and basic commutative algebra. Topics covered include rings, modules, localisation, affine and projective curves, linear systems and divisors, and also schemes and sheaves.

Entry requirements

120 credits including 90 credits in mathematics. Participation in Modules and Homological Algebra. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
