Cosmology is about the origin of the universe and its development. The course discusses relativity, the Big Bang and the inflationary model. Further, the course contains thermodynamics and the nucleosynthesis of the early universe, how structures are formed and grow as well as the formation of galaxies. Black holes, dark matter and dark energy are also discussed. Self-studies in case of few participants.
Entry requirements
120 credits including 30 credits in mathematics and 60 credits in physics. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
