This course is a standard first course in databases. It covers the principles of database design, data representation and information search with modern (relational) database engines, and the practical use and development of databases. The key ingredients are the Entity-relationship model and the query language SQL.
Entry requirements
60 credits of which 15 credits in mathematics or statistics. Participation in basic programming.
