The Master's programme in Archaeology is for students who want to gain an in-depth knowledge of the past through a combination of material and textual sources. The programme gives you the ability to carry out advanced analyses and plan large-scale projects. You will also develop advanced skills such as reviewing and evaluating different types of source material and claims. There are opportunities to do an internship in a relevant professional environment, such as county museums, archives, county councils, commissioned archaeology or other cultural heritage activities. Our graduates work as archaeologists, archivists, museum curators, museum educators, municipal and state investigators, aid workers, tour leaders, guides, cultural writers, teachers, university assistant researchers and doctoral candidates. The language of instruction is English.

Entry requirements

_Academic requirements_ A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university. The main field of study must be archaeology. _Language requirements_ Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6. This requirement can be met either by achieving the required score on an internationally recognised test, or by previous upper secondary or university studies in some countries.
