Code: TBT2M

Transforming toward sustainable and resilient societies requires high-performing batteries for powering electric vehicles, balancing wind and solar power and enabling thousands of future innovations. Would you like to contribute to this development? Are you a chemist, materials scientist or chemical engineer and want to deepen your knowledge within battery materials? Or do you have a degree in electrical engineering, energy engineering or similar and would like to get a deep understanding of batteries and how they are integrated into larger technical systems? Apply to for our Master's Programme in Battery Technology and Energy Storage and experience how chemistry, materials, and engineering open up for the design, construction, and implementation of future electric storage technologies. Uppsala University harbours one of Europe's largest educational and research facilities dedicated to the science and development of batteries, with close ties to global industrial producers and users of batteries. You will meet some of the main actors in the European and Swedish industries in the field of batteries through study visits, guest lectures, and thesis work. As a student, you will be exposed to the research frontier of battery materials and cells as well as their state-of-the-art production and application. You will learn effective management and communication skills by problem-solving in groups, working on projects, and practising argumentation and presentation techniques. The programme provides you with an attractive profile for a future career in the industry (e.g. as a project manager or battery specialist) but also serves as an excellent introduction to PhD studies. The language of instruction is English.
