How has the diversity of life arisen and evolved? This Master's programme in Biologi with a specialisation in evolutionary biologi provides in-depth knowledge of evolutionary mechanisms and patterns – from the molecular level to entire organisms and ecosystems. You will combine theoretical studies with practical components in areas such as evolutionary ecology, genomics, macroevolution and developmental biology. Teaching is conducted by active researchers and closely linked to current research. The programme is flexible – you choose courses based on your interests and career goals. The second year is mainly devoted to a degree project, which can be carried out within the university's research groups or in collaboration with external partners. This programme is ideal if you aim to work in research, conservation or the biotechnology sector. Our graduates have pursued careers in academia, governmental agencies and industry. The language of instruction is English.
*Academic requirements* A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university. Also required is: - 60 weeks of full-time studies (90 credits) in biology; or - 40 weeks of full-time studies (60 credits) in biology plus 20 weeks of full-time studies (30 credits) in chemistry and/or earth sciences. *Language requirements* Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6. This requirement can be met either by achieving the required score on an internationally recognised test, or by previous upper secondary or university studies in some countries.
