The Master's Programme in Digital Media and Society (DIMS) deepens your knowledge of the relationship between digital media and culture, society, and politics. Upon graduation, you will be qualified for advanced roles in government agencies, organisations, and businesses in the fields of media and cultural analysis, organisational communication, media policy, research, and communication. The programme’s strong academic foundation prepares students for independent research in the field of media and communication studies. As the programme is internationally advertised, students from all over the world engage in rewarding exchanges of ideas. During your studies, you will take advanced courses on digital media and culture, organisations, society, and politics. You will also develop methodological skills for conducting advanced studies of the digital society. In the third semester, you have the opportunity to do an internship or take elective courses to tailor your education to your interests. The programme concludes with a 30-credit Master's thesis. DIMS enables careers in media and cultural analysis, organisational communication and public relations, journalism, policy, research, and media and cultural production. A relatively large proportion of the programme’s alumni pursue careers as researchers, while others work in various communication-related roles in both the public and private sectors. The language of instruction is English.
