Riemannian Geometry is the study of curved spaces known as Riemannian manifolds extending the theory of surfaces in R^3. This course will focus on the key notions of geodesics and curvature and will study their interaction using Jacobi fields. The highlight of the course is a series of local-to-global theorems demonstrating how curvature influences topology.

Entry requirements

120 credits including 90 credits in mathematics. Real Analysis or the equivalent. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
