Do you want to understand how the Nordic languages are structured, how they are used, and how they differ from one another? Nordic Languages A offers a broad and engaging introduction to the linguistic structure of the Nordic languages and allows you to develop both your linguistic awareness and your communicative skills. The course provides a foundational overview of language structure and linguistic methods, giving you the opportunity to explore how language works at different levels – from sounds and grammar to meaning and use. You will also have the chance to learn more about Danish and Norwegian, through both theoretical study and practical work with comprehension and production. In the course components focusing on oral and written communication, you further develop your ability to speak and write clearly, effectively, and with linguistic awareness. The course combines lectures, seminars, and practical exercises that help you build strong analytical skills and a deeper understanding of the similarities and differences between the Nordic languages. Whether you plan to continue in linguistics, strengthen your qualifications for your future career, or are simply curious about how the Nordic languages function, the course offers a solid and inspiring foundation.
