The course focuses on the emergence and further development of educational systems from a historical and comparative perspective. Addressing national similarities and dissimilarities as well as different theoretical perspectives, it covers processes such as centralisation, decentralisation, state formation and social reproduction. Particular attention is given to the changing conditions, functions and consequences of education.

Entry requirements

A Bachelor's degree including at least 90 credits from a discipline pertaining to the social sciences or the humanities.
