Bachelor Course in Finance II, including degree project

The Bachelor Course in Finance II develops your knowledge and skills in solving problems and providing analysis withing the finance area. This course is designed to foster advanced research skills, analytical thinking, and effective communication while addressing significant issues and topics relevant to the finance discipline. This full-semester course in finance comprises the following three modules: Corporate Finance II: This module covers theories and models that can be used in investment and company valuation, optimal capital structure, financial aspects of mergers and acquisitions, and advanced corporate analysis. International Economics and Finance: The course covers analysis of international financial markets and institutions with a focus on the practical aspects, opportunities and challenges faced by multinational companies in terms of international invest-ment and foreign exchange rates. The course consists of three main topics including (i) foundations of international financial management, i.e., international monetary systems, and exchange rates (ii) international financial markets, i.e., bond, equity, futures, options, and swaps, (iii) foreign exchange risk management as well as for-eign direct investment. Business Administration, Degree Project (Bachelor): The module is based on a series of seminars about the students' reports during the process of writing a degree project. The work with the degree project includes definition and formulation of a research question, writing a report about the research work and critically discusses and ana-lyze other students' work material. The course is aimed at students who have already completed at least two years of university-level studies, of which at least one year is in business administration. In combination with the course Bachelor Course in Finance I and prior studies that fulfils the requirements of Linnaeus University, it can lead to a bachelor’s degree. This course prepares students for further academic pursuits or professional endeavors in finance-related fields, equipping them with the research skills and expertise neces-sary for success in their future endeavors.
