<p>Malmö Academy of Music is a leading educational institution specialised in musical studies, training, and research. With a clear international profile, we move art forward - always with the passion for music and learning at our core.</p><p>The Bachelor's Programme in Music with a specialisation in symphonic orchestra instruments is a three-year full-time university programme. It is aimed at students who want to deepen their technical and artistic skills in Western art music. </p> <p><strong>Instrumental studies</strong><br /> You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in your main instrument under the guidance of experienced teachers. Through regular individual lessons, masterclasses and group lessons you develop both technical skills and your artistic expression.</p> <p><strong>Musical Studies and interpretation</strong><br /> You regularly work together with your teacher/pianist to develop a deeper understanding of the music you perform, with a focus on both technical precision and artistic interpretation.</p> <p><strong>Chamber music</strong><br /> A central part of the programme is chamber music, where you get the opportunity to play together with other students in smaller ensembles and develop your musical sensitivity and your communication skills.</p> <p><strong>Orchestra Studies</strong><br /> You participate in Academy of Music's Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra undertakes around six productions each academic year, which gives you as a student valuable experience of playing in a larger ensemble under the direction of professional conductors.<br /><br /><strong>Music Theory</strong><br /> This subject let you develop your skills in identifying and analysing musical structures, which are fundamental to understanding and interpreting music in depth.</p> <p><strong>Piano</strong><br /> During your first year of study, you will be taught basic piano playing.</p> <p><strong>Music</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Society</strong><br /> The courses explore the role and impact of music in various social and cultural contexts.</p> <p><strong>Music as a profession</strong><br /> The course will give you a thorough insight into the professional aspects of the music industry while preparing you for a career as a musician.</p> <p><strong>Degree project</strong><br /> The performance part (exam concert) constitutes 75% of your degree project. In the exam concert, your artistic and technical expressiveness is made visible. The reflective part makes up 25% of your thesis.
