Bachelor's Programme in Game Design and Level Design

Would you like to develop games on a professional and international level? Do you want to create new experiences within the games industry? Our students come from all over the world. Here, they mix theory and experiments with practical game development in international teams to become the next generation of game designers. The education has a close collaboration with the games industry and gives you both the tools and contacts for a career in game development. You will train the skills and the technical knowledge to design, test, develop and deploy games. Technology, design, project management, business and artistic expression meet within both the education and research at the department. The education offers the chance to both exhibit your games and apply for internships. The programme offers a specialisation in level design. As a level designer, you study game engines, art history, psychology and storytelling to prepare you for work as a level designer. The education has a good international reputation and many of our students have won awards for their games around the world. Many former students work in game studios or started their own studios, in or outside of Sweden. After the programme, you are also equipped to continue your studies in Swedish or international master programmes. The language of instruction is English. The programme is given in Visby, on the island of Gotland.
