Översikt
This course is a continuation of the biochemistry learned in the basic chemistry course. In this biochemistry course you will study how living cells gets energy from the surrounding environment, for example how carbohydrates, lipids and proteins are metabolized and how the photosynthesis works. . The first half of the course provides a physico-chemical picture of the metabolism, its regulation and energy conservation processes. The second half of the course deals with the transfer of information in the cell from a biochemical/structural point of view, how the genetic material is copied and the genes are expressed.
