Biology: Molecular Genetics of Eukaryotes

<p>BIOR95</p><p>The course deals with the structure and function of the genetic material in eukaryotic organisms. Genome organization and mechanisms for gene expression are studied on an advanced level, with a strong connection to the most recent research in molecular genetics. A big attention is put on the methodology and techniques of molecular genetics, which serves as a preparation for postgraduate education and professional work.</p> <p>Course content:</p> <p>- Organization and evolution of eukaryotic genomes.</p> <p>- Principles of gene expression.</p> <p>- Functional chromosomal elements and chromatin structure.</p> <p>- Developmental genetics and tumour genetics.</p> <p>- Gene technology: basic and applied molecular genetic methods.</p>
