Climate Change and Society

The course gives you the opportunity to develop knowledge about climate change and its impact on communities around the world. Theoretical knowledge is combined with basic knowledge in e.g. climate modelling and a field trip. The course offers a broad and varied content with climate change as a focus. You will learn about: the current and future status of climate change and its impact on societies<br> basic knowledge of climate reconstructions and climate modelling<br> changes in the climate system (e.g. temperature and precipitation) and how it affects societies in different parts of the world<br> societal adaptions to climate change<br> The course consists of three modules: theory<br> field trip/excursions<br> group assignment<br> The teaching includes: excursion<br> lectures<br> exercises<br> seminars<br> group assignment<br> The course is part of the Bachelor’s Programme in Earth Sciences, the course is also offered as a freestanding course. The course involves additional costs for the student.
