Delivering on the Sustainable Development Goals: Collaborative Learning and Practical Implementation

The course is a collaboration between the Division for Electricity and SWEDESD (Centre for Research and Learning for Sustainable Development and Global Health) at Uppsala University and the United Nations Development Programme. The course provides students of various backgrounds an opportunity to learn practical tools for climate change mitigation and efficient SDG fulfilment. This multidisciplinary course is given in four complementing modules where the first two provide context and tools of co-creation and the second two provide practical implementation in a technical context with a focus on electromobility. Co-creation methodology is applied to sustainable development solutions together with an in-depth understanding of the SDGs in the UN framework. Practical applications and examples are provided by experts at the UNDP. The course will provide students with international and intercultural perspectives by linking the Global North and Global South and merging technical and behavioural, societal and cultural perspectives. It will develop the students' skills to contribute to a changing, global society by placing them in direct contact with this reality, developing their capacity and providing them with methodological tools to enact change through co-creation. E-mobility is studied in a holistic project management approach, from early assessment of the developing need for charging infrastructure, through business models, site selection and technical system design, to operation and maintenance. The practical application, based on case studies provided by the UNDP, will build capacity for the implementation of electromobility systems. **Course Structure for the Distance Learning Program:** The course is entirely online, and we aim to schedule lecture times to accommodate international participation. The course includes, in part, mandatory sessions on Zoom, along with active use of the Studium learning platform. All lectures are recorded and uploaded to Studium. The course requires active and regular participation in seminars, group work, and assessments. A computer with internet access is essential for participating in the course.
