Översikt
This is a course for performing arts professionals who wish to broaden their understanding of directing methods in contemporary performing arts. The purpose of the course is to engage with topical discussions concerning the directing methods in the performing arts in order for the participants to develop their individual artistic strategies. Within the course the participants will develop their awareness about some of the questions that challenge contemporary performing arts, such as: the quesiton of hierarchies, ownership and agency, leadership and ethics, in relation to artistic freedom, the idea of collectivity and context-based performative practices. The participants will discuss these questions with others as well as critically examine their own artistic practice and reflect on the possibility of implementing specific methods in their future artistic work.
