English Master Thesis in Linguistics and Literary Studies

The master’s thesis is written in English and the topic is chosen in consultation with the supervisor. The course consists of obligatory seminars where students present their work and read and comment on each other’s work. The writing process is discussed continuously according to a schedule set up by the supervisor. The thesis is defended at a final seminar, where each student fulfils the role of opponent. The application process consists of two steps. 1. Firstly, you need to apply to the course online at www.antagning.se / www.universityadmissions.se - Deadline 15 October 2025. 2. Secondly, you need to submit a research proposal - Deadline 1 December 2025. The research proposal should be one A4 page long, written in English, and it should explain the topic of your thesis while briefly outlining the methods, theories, data sources, etc. that you plan to use. The evaluatiuon of your proposal will be based on the relevance of the proposed thesis topic and your proficiency in expressing yourself in English. Submit your letter on your pages on antagning.se / www.universityadmissions.se before the mentioned deadline.
