Environmental Humanities: New Perspectives on Global Sustainability

<p>In this course, you will explore humanity’s role in the planet’s future through case studies in the humanities. What can history, art, literature, philosophy and other disciplines within the humanities teach us about the climate crisis?</p><p>This course is an introduction to the interdisciplinary field of Environmental Humanities. It provides insights into how you can understand and work with environmental and sustainability issues from a humanities perspective. </p><p>The course is interdisciplinary, and the lectures and seminars are led by researchers from various disciplines. You will take part in discussions about humanity’s relationship with nature both today and in the past, about the importance of human rights in relation to climate change, and about what literature and philosophy, for example, can teach us about the role of emotions in sustainability debates. </p><p><br/></p>
