Environmental Impact Assessment

This course will give you advanced knowledge on Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) in an international perspective. Focus will be on the processes and methods used to implement the goals of EIA, with examples from different countries. After completing the course you will have: Knowledge about the motivation and background for performing EIA.<br> Knowledge and skills in relation to the framework and procedures of EIA with specific regard to its basic principles, definitions, procedures and applied methods.<br> Basic knowledge and skills to practice a number of selected methods used in EIA.<br> The course is given in English and based on lectures, seminars, exercises, excursions and project work. The exercises will be presented by you as written reports and oral presentations. A written exam is given at the end of the course. Excursions may imply certain expenses for you.
