Översikt
This course examines tourism sustainability from a community-level perspective, highlighting the importance of local participation in tourism planning and development. Students will start by exploring different theories of community development. As the course progresses, key concepts such as community sustainability, resident empowerment from tourism, tourism governance, tourism place making will be examined. The course concludes with a critical analysis of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), discussing both the strengths and limitations of applying the SDG framework to tourism sustainability.
