Gender, Disasters and Climate Risk

<p>How do climate change and disasters affect men and women differently? In this course, you will explore the links between gender, risk and crisis and learn to analyse how vulnerability and response vary across the world.</p><p>Climate change and natural disasters do not impact everyone equally. Gender plays a key role in shaping how people are affected and what resources they can access in times of crisis. This course introduces you to how risks and disasters influence different groups and how social structures can amplify or reduce vulnerability.</p><p>You will gain foundational knowledge of gender relations, the effects of climate change and crisis management. Through case studies from different parts of the world, you will learn how gender, power and social norms shape people’s ability to cope with climate-related risks.</p><p>The course can be taken as a stand-alone option and is ideal for anyone interested in sustainability, social issues and gender equality in the context of climate change.</p>
