GIS: GIS and Statistical Analysis

<p>The aim of the course is to provide the student with a background in fundamental statistical methods with a particular focus on geographical data. The course deals with statistical distributions, populations, statistical analysis as well as uncertainty analysis of geographical data.</p><p>In this course you will learn to use and explain statistical measures, independently perform analyzes and interpret results, understand and apply methods to applicable data and perform a geostatistical analysis.</p> <p>Course content</p> <p>The course consists of different parts:</p> <p>    Descriptive statistics</p> <p>    Data sets and populations</p> <p>    Correlation analysis</p> <p>    Simple linear regression</p> <p>    Multiple regression analysis and trend areas</p> <p>    Spatial regression</p> <p>    Spatial distributions and clusters</p> <p>    Hypothesis testing</p> <p>    Regional variable theory</p> <p>The course is distributed online and is given via the Internet to students in the master's program in Geographic Information Science.</p>
