In-depth Course in English, Literary Specialization

<p>The course consists of two modules: Module 1: Literary Theory and Methodology and Academic Writing (7.5 credits) and Literary Studies (7.5 credits) At the end of the course you should be able to discuss and critically reflect on key literary theoretical and methodological issues as well as on the implications of literary studies for contemporary social concerns. The course also includes close reading of literary texts which will enable you to analyze and discuss literature and relevant secondary critical material based on a specific thematic, authorship, literary genre, or a literary historical period. As the course contributes to the completion of an independent research project by the student, it includes critical discussions of the practices and conditions of scientific authorship (the writing process, source documentation, peer review, source criticism, research ethics) and provides an opportunity for structured reflection on students’ own scientific style and approach.</p>
