Information Technology Law

<p>This course is aimed at those who want to learn more about the legal rules concerning the digitalization of and technological development in society. The course is suitable as an introductory course for professionals who have a need for or interest in learning more about the legal rules of IT law, as well as for students who are training for a profession where they need to know the basics of IT law. The course is also suitable for those who have a general interest in learning more about the regulation of various social phenomena linked to digitalization and technological development. The course includes a review of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the right to the protection of personal data. Issues relating to the storage of sensitive personal data and data transfers to third countries are given special attention in this section. Furthermore, issues relating to cyber-crime and cyber-security and developments that took place in the regulation of these areas are addressed. The course also discusses regulations covering different types of digital platforms (such as social platforms, platforms focused on brokering services and goods, and digital platforms in the financial sector) as well as the development and utilization of artificial intelligence (AI). Finally, the course addresses basics of intellectual property protection that exists in Swedish and foreign law for example concerning computer games, computer programs and apps.</p><p><br>The language of instruction on the course is English.</p>
