The course in inorganic chemistry extends the knowledge about the inorganic compounds chemical structure, properties and function. This is achieved by a deeper discussion about intra- and intermolecular properties based on the properties of the atoms and how they are expressed in solid, liquid and gaseous matter. The principles behind the periodic table and its use for extracting information about the elements are also included. These aspects are applied in qualitative and quantitative analysis of inorganic compounds which is important for the practical analyst. The practical parts of the course are focused on the choice of modern analytical techniques for the quantitqaive analysis and on invesitgating properties of elements as well as ionic and molecular compounds.
