Italian: Italian Literature

<p>Explore the rich world of Italian Literature and discover how stories, ideas, and voices from different eras shape today’s culture. This course deepens your insight, strengthens your analytical skills, and opens new ways of understanding human experience.</p><p>This course is for you who have successfully completed 90 credits in Italian or have the equivalent knowledge. The course is compulsory within the Master’s Programme in Languages and Linguistics (Italian orientation) but may also be taken as an independent course.</p><p>During the course you will develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of Italian literary history including its major periods, genres, key authors, and significant works. You will engage with a wide range of literary styles across different genres and historical contexts. </p><p>You will also learn to discuss issues independently within a chosen problem area, and to summarise and present this area clearly. In addition, you will explore how Italian literary history connects to broader humanist educational traditions and how to relate these perspectives to your selected problem area.</p>
