Master Programme in Music, Composition - Scoring for Film and Media

<p>Malmö Academy of Music is a leading educational institution specialised in musical studies, training, and research. We offer programmes aimed at students who want to work professionally as musicians, church musicians, composers or music teachers. With a clear international profile, we move art forward - always with the passion for music and learning at our core.</p><p>The Master’s programme in Music, Composition - Scoring for Film and Media, open for applicants every second year, aims to develop the student’s creativity and ability to sensitively capture dramatic and emotional events in moving image through music. On completion of the programme, the student shall have acquired an ability to work as a composer in film, game and media productions.</p> <p>The programme also aims to develop the students’ ability to adapt their work to the demands of the industry for new approaches and change. This work includes developing the ability to work with other professional groups of importance in the film and media industry, for example directors, editors and sound designers. </p> <p>The programme largely consist of individual composition classes but also of group classes such as workshops and seminars. Subjects include film analysis, digital tools and electro-acoustic music, music theory, instrumentation and music profession. Projects and degree project are included.</p> <h3>Admission</h3> <p>You can apply for this programme via www.universityadmissions.se. No admission for the academic year 25/26. The next admission period opens for the academic year 26/27.</p> <p>Admission to our programmes requires you to audition at the Malmö Academy of Music.
