Översikt
Explore the science behind biodiversity, species interactions and conservation in this flexible, research-focused international Master’s programme. You will gain a solid foundation in the theory of ecology, evolution and conservation biology, as well as practical experience in fieldwork methods, environmental monitoring and scientific communication. The biology courses are closely integrated with ongoing research. All of our teachers are active scientists in their respective fields, ensuring you receive an up-to-date education that reflects the latest advances in the subject. Teachers encourage discussion and active participation in both lectures and laboratory sessions. You design your own study plan, based on your interests and career goals. You choose from courses focusing on plants, animals, and microorganisms, as well as their interactions with each other and the environment. More applied courses are also available, preparing you for future work in nature conservation within companies, government agencies and other organisations. This combination of theory and practice with the skills needed to become a highly sought-after professional in the field! This programme is ideal if you are aiming for a career in nature conservation, sustainable resource management or academic research. You will develop strong analytical and communication skills that are valued by both the public and private sectors. Future career opportunities include roles available in the academy, government agencies, environmental organisations and private companies. As a biologist, you could also pursue a career in teaching or science communication, for example as a science journalist. The language of instruction is English.
