Policy processes, implementation and evaluation

The course offers insights on how international development cooperation is planned and implemented, and the role of evaluations in this context. Also different forms of aid and cooperation withj non-governmental organisations are treated. After the course you are expected to understand and describe the importance of evaluations in different contexts, as well as account for the undelying principles. Knowledge about relevan methods for planning, implementation and evaluation of international develeopment cooperation is also a learning objective. Furthermore, you should be able to critically review and analyse different types of documents in the decision making process, and we will discuss different planning instruments, project planning and budget work. We highlight the importance of creating conditions for future evaluations already during the planning phase. The course is ending with an exercise in which students make a critical review of a project evaluation.
