Research Internship: English Literature

This course provides students with hands-on research experience in a subfield of English literary studies. Students become members of ongoing research projects that are being carried out at the department. They contribute to the actual project work at hand, and obtain an in-depth understanding of the research process as a whole as well as gain relevant research skills and experience in English literary studies. Students work in close collaboration with researchers based in the department, and at times with their national and international collaborators. Research-related tasks may include project planning, reviews of research literature, and contributing to data collection, preparation, and analysis. The exact content and nature of tasks depend on the project contribution agreed on between the student and the project leader, and participation in the course is conditional on such a contribution agreement being approved at the outset of the course. The course coordinator is responsible for enabling contact between students and project leaders and putting in place the conditions for such agreement. Work contributed by the students will be acknowledged appropriately in publications or other dissemination of research results.
