Research skills in biology

The course primarily aims to provide a broad introduction to research methodology in biology, but also to introduce the students to the various profile areas offered within the master's program in biology. The course provides good preparation for further studies within the program. A large part of the course focuses on the students writing an individual research plan, and in connection with that the following areas are reviewed: Literature search<br> Text processing<br> Experimental design<br> Research ethics<br> Safety aspects of field and laboratory work, including risk analyses The course also includes practical and theoretical elements on how to process and interpret data as well as how to present scientific findings to different target groups. The students also get to practice giving written and oral feedback on each other's tasks.
