Social Policy in Europe

<p>This course is designed for those who seek to explore and explain the formation of social policy and its connection to practical social work and social services. The course is intended for individuals with at least a bachelor's degree in social work or an equivalent qualification. </p><p>The course provides you with analytical tools that improve your ability to explore and explain social policy models. You will discuss interventions from both bottom-up and top-down perspectives. Special emphasis is placed on theoretical discussions regarding the various ways social policy addresses social change at different levels - European, national, and local.</p><p>The course consists of two main components: one focusing on theory and the other on ongoing transformations in contemporary welfare societies. During the course, you will study themes such as: </p><ul><li>Labour market and employment</li><li>Inequality</li><li>Poverty and social exclusion</li><li>Sustainable welfare and eco-social policy</li></ul><p>The course is conducted in English and is an independent course within the main field of social work.
