Software engineering: Theory and practice

In the wake of the increased pace of ongoing sustainability transitions, responding to challenges such as climate change and the energy crisis, environmental policies are becoming more comprehensive, complex, and stringent. The purpose of this course is to give you an introduction to a portfolio of environmental policy instruments - including for instance taxes, subsidies, and tradeable permits - and existing policy frameworks and policy processes - including for instance EU Fit for 55 and international climate negotiations. To help you understand and navigate environmental policy instruments in your own practice and future work (e.g. identify business opportunities or ways to address environmental challenges effectively), the course includes lectures from experts in academia and industry, discussions, and workshops. (This course is intended both for students and professionals and is offered as a 5 or 7.5 credits course.)
