Sound Engineering I, Basic Course

The course presents the most common audio engineering tools for recording and mixing, such as microphones, recording principles, dynamic effects, and time-based effects. The course also covers acoustics and hearing. It includes an introduction to practical operation through stereo microphone techniques, signal flow, effects processing, digital editing, and practical exercises. The course is delivered entirely at a distance with no mandatory meetings, and learning takes place through video lectures, literature, and exercises via Bb Learn. The assignments are both written and practical. The student needs access to a computer with music production software, proper listening equipment such as headphones or monitors, and an internet connection. During module 2, temporary access to two identical microphones and support for recording them simultaneously in the above-mentioned music software is required.
