Spacial change and planning for sustainable development

This course takes you through a journey of urban transformation. With a mix of field studies and an exciting field trip, the course offers a unique insight into how theoretical concepts of environment and social change find expression in the urban environment. We begin by diving into the world of urban planning, where we explore how theory turns into practice. Students will see how cities adapt and change to meet environmental and social challenges. By building on previous knowledge in cultural geography, the course applies these ideas in different geographical contexts, always with a focus on sustainable development. This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the complex processes and challenges that cities face today, as well as the tools and methods that can be used to create more sustainable and viable urban environments.
