Teaching and Learning Physics from a Methodological Perspective

The course introduces a systematic approach to the teaching of physics at the upper-secondary school level and introductory university level. You will learn how to productively use multiple representations of physical concepts to help others learn physics content, how to productively incorporate experiments in your teaching, and how to engage learners in activities that develop physics habits of mind and habits of practice. In addition, you will learn about the most common difficulties that pupils and students encounter when learning physics and how to address them in practice. The course makes use of pedagogical techniques that you will be expected to use in your practice, such as group work and the use of simple experiments. **Outline for distance course:** Communication between students and teachers will be through the learning management system and other e-meeting tools. Access to a computer with a stable internet connection and camera is required.
