The programme equips you with both theoretical and practical knowledge, preparing you well for a career as an economist. Economist is a profession for the future in a globalized world where societal actors increasingly need to consider the economic environment. Economic and data analyses form a crucial foundation for informed decision-making. As a student, you will be trained as a societal analyst with a solid understanding of financial and socio-economic issues, and you will be equipped with relevant theoretical and empirical tools for analysis. Economists are interested in topics such as political economy, unemployment, growth, inflation, tax policy, and monetary policy. With a bachelor's degree in economics, you can work as an analyst of both international and Swedish economies, specific markets (e.g., the financial market), and evaluate economic reforms and policy measures. In three years, the programme offers fundamental, in-depth, and advanced knowledge in economic theory and practice. You will also learn to handle quantitative methods in statistics and mathematics. The programme provides excellent opportunities to study abroad, and you will learn to conduct independent research through essays, with the possibility of including an internship in your bachelor's thesis in economics.
