Theory of Architecture 3:1

To understand the many mutations of our complex urban and rural lifeworlds the course aims to introduce different methods of research; mapping the contemporary architecture and urban systems in order to explore, test and develop an emerging spatial response. The focus is on complex urban systems, mapping and observing them. To see how they arise, and to explore how, within these systems a potential common, public and private sphere can be created with the contribution of both informal and formal spatial configurations that are culturally, ecologically and socially sustainable. The course is divided into three modules: Module 1: Architectural Methods (2 credits) Module 2: Mapping Urban or Rural Complexity (2 credits) Module 3: Practice, Architecture, Technique and Representation (4 credits)
