Thermal Spraying

This course is aimed at you who want to learn about thermal spraying and how thermal spraying could make your processes/production more sustainable. It is suitable for both beginners as well as those who have some experience in coating production or characterisation. The course contains an introduction to surface engineering and principles of different types of thermal spray processes. Fundamental mechanisms of coating formation will be discussed. An overview of coating characterisation techniques and properties will be presented. Real life examples where thermal spray can be used to promote sustainability will be provided. The course consists of online seminars and in person laboratory visit. The course is mainly delivered via distance learning in flexible, net-based form with one physical meeting at the end of the course in combination with the laboratory visit. The course will be given in English. **Industry and academia** This course has been developed in collaboration with industry within the framework of one of our education projects. The project aims to provide advanced level courses to a mix of students and professionals in order to strengthen the competitiveness of Swedish industry. We apply validation of work experience to see if you have skills that correspond to the eligibility requirements for the course.
