The course covers the following: \- Central theories and perspectives on knowledge and learning, how these relate to one another, and how they underpin different ideas about the planning, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of teaching, with particular relevance to music education \- Philosophy of science perspectives on education and the principle that schooling should be grounded in scientific evidence and proven experience, including discussions on evidence-based teaching practices \- The fundamentals of qualitative and quantitative methods \- Academic writing as a tool for learning, development, and professional dialogue. The course is based on varied formats of instruction where students take an active role, for example through case studies, group discussions, and seminars.
Educational tools for teachers - Music teachers, 7.5 ECTS credits, and at least 45 ECTS credits completed in the Music Teacher Programme, plus registered for Teachers' pedagogical approach 1 - Music teachers, 7.5 ECTS credits, or equivalent.
