En översikt över matematikfilosofins huvudsakliga metafysiska, semantiska och epistemologiska frÄgor ges, sÄvÀl som över de mest tongivande teorier och lösningsförslag som dessa frÄgor och problem givit upphov till. Viss tid Àgnas Ät en historisk genomgÄng av Àmnets utveckling frÄn antiken fram till modern tid, men fokus ligger pÄ de problem och teorier som dominerat matematikfilosofin sedan slutet av 1800-talet fram till vÄra dagar. Bland de teorier som presenteras mÀrks sÀrskilt platonism, logicism, formalism, intuitionism samt strukturalism
