Kursen behandlar grunderna inom genetik, evolution, systematik och ekologi. Kursen indelas i tvÄ moduler. Modul 1: Teori, 6 förutbildningspoÀng. Modulen behandlar naturvetenskapliga teorier om livets uppkomst, utveckling och organismvÀrldens indelning. Vidare studeras cellers funktion, celldelning, arvsmassans uppbyggnad, mekanismer som styr arvet, genuttryck och hur det pÄverkas av arv och miljö. Naturligt urval, sexuell selektion, organismers beteenden och artbildning belyses utifrÄn ett evolutionÀrt perspektiv. UtifrÄn grundlÀggande kunskaper om interaktioner mellan individer och populationer samt deras omgivning förklaras artrikedom och artsammansÀttning i olika samhÀllen, ekosystems struktur och funktion samt hur olika störningar kan pÄverkar ekosystem. Modulen behandlar Àven samhÀllsfrÄgor relaterade till hÄllbar utveckling. Modul 2: Praktiska moment, 1.5 förutbildningspoÀng. Modulen behandlar exkursion i fÀlt och laborationer.
