Would you like to learn more about stress and how it affects health? Stress is a current societal problem. Many people experience stress on a daily basis, it may be due to changes in the workplace, financial challenges, relationship problems, work-life balance difficulties, illness, or other demanding life events. In this course you will be introduced to health and well-being from the perspective of stress and coping. We focus on how stress can affect physical, mental, and social health. You will learn about stress theories, early signs of stress, about triggers and how different coping strategies can be used. The course also clarifies how stress affects different populations in different ways and how coping strategies can vary between social groups. The course lectures will provide you with the latest research in the field, for example on stress and coping during Covid-19. Other important course features are the discussion forums, where you will have the opportunity to learn more by discussing and debating the subject and its challenges with other students.
