Are you interested in exploring the diversity of life and understanding species relationships? This international Master's specialisation provides in-depth knowledge of biodiversity and systematics – from populations to species and macro-evolutionary patterns. The programme is a collaboration between universities in Sweden and Norway, with each institution offering courses in their areas of expertise. You will combine theoretical studies with practical components, including fieldwork and laboratory exercises, as well as online courses. The programme is flexible – you choose courses based on your interests and career goals. The second year is mainly devoted to a degree project, which can be carried out within the university's research groups or in collaboration with external partners. This programme is ideal if you aim to do research or practical work in biodiversity and its conservation. Our graduates have pursued careers in academia, governmental agencies, and industry. The language of instruction is English.
*Academic requirements* A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university. Also required is: - 60 weeks of full-time studies (90 credits) in biology; or - 40 weeks of full-time studies (60 credits) in biology plus 20 weeks of full-time studies (30 credits) in chemistry and/or earth sciences. *Language requirements* Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6. This requirement can be met either by achieving the required score on an internationally recognised test, or by previous upper secondary or university studies in some countries.
