It provides an overview of laser machines, laser beam guiding and the use of laser beams for Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) processes. Proper use of equipment will be discussed along with discovering the possibilities of process design. Impacts of process and material parameters will be discussed, evaluated and tested in the laboratory at University West. Monitoring devices and their possibilities and limitations for inline process observations and control will be introduced. The course is mainly delivered via distance learning in a flexible, net-based form with two physical meetings. Some course meetings are compulsory.
