<p>Artificial intelligence is often highlighted as a solution to climate and environmental challenges, but it also requires much energy and resources. In this course, you will gain tools to analyse AI's environmental impact and discuss how the technology can be governed for sustainable development.</p><p>You will learn about important concepts such as datafication, externalisation and rebound effects. Using concrete examples, you will gain tools to compare how different AI solutions affect energy and resource use, as well as how they can contribute to or complicate efforts to achieve climate and environmental goals. </p><p>The course is suitable for those who want to discuss AI and the environment in an informed way, based on technical, societal and environmental perspectives. </p><p> </p>
